We also offer a condensed one-day option for those with tighter schedules. Both programs include official New York State A.T.A.P. certification, which is what most employers require and what gives you legal protection when serving alcohol.

The final piece is job placement support. We don’t just train you and send you out to figure it out alone. Do I need experience to enroll in bartending classes?

No experience is required. Our program is designed for complete beginners who want to learn professional bartending skills from the ground up. We start with the basics and build your confidence through hands-on practice. Many of our most successful graduates had never worked behind a bar before starting our program. What matters is your willingness to learn and your commitment to developing real skills. The five-day program gives you enough time to practice until the techniques become natural. By the end of the week, you’ll handle a busy bar shift with confidence.
You’ll receive official New York State A.T.A.P. certification, which is recognized throughout New York and required by most employers. This certification covers responsible alcohol service and gives you legal protection when serving customers. A.T.A.P. stands for Alcohol Training Awareness Program, and it’s administered by the New York State Liquor Authority. Having this certification makes you eligible for reduced penalties if any serving violations occur, which is why employers prefer certified bartenders. Your certification is valid for three years and demonstrates that you understand New York’s liquor laws, can identify fake IDs, and know how to handle intoxicated customers responsibly.
Many of our graduates start working within days of completing their certification. We provide direct job placement assistance and maintain relationships with bars, restaurants, and venues throughout Long Island and NYC. Our 24/7 alumni job portal lists current openings, and we often receive calls from employers specifically requesting our graduates. The combination of proper training and industry connections gives you a significant advantage in the job market. The current demand for skilled bartenders in the Long Island and NYC area is strong. Experienced bartenders are earning excellent money, and there are more opportunities than qualified candidates to fill them.
Absolutely. Bartending offers excellent flexibility, and many of our graduates work part-time to supplement their primary income or while pursuing other goals. Weekend shifts, evening work, and special events provide opportunities to earn substantial tips without committing to full-time hours. Many bartenders earn more working three nights a week than they would in traditional full-time positions. The skills you learn are portable, so you can work at different types of venues depending on your schedule and income goals. From casual sports bars to upscale restaurants, there are part-time opportunities across all segments of the hospitality industry.
The five-day program covers everything you need to work professionally as a bartender. You’ll learn over 100 cocktail recipes, proper pouring techniques, bar setup and breakdown, cash register operation, and customer service skills. We also cover wine service, beer knowledge, responsible alcohol service, and New York’s specific liquor laws. The training takes place behind real bar setups with actual equipment, so you’re prepared for real working conditions. Your A.T.A.P. certification is included, along with lifetime job placement assistance and free refresher courses. We also provide resume preparation and interview coaching to help you land your first position.
